A career-long interest in real estate was only natural for the enterprising Jim Davis. In the mid 2000s, Jim began working on behalf of large residential and commercial developers. He parlayed that experience into a role as a broker, aiding his clients in transactions, construction management and development, particularly in the luxury space.
Jim likes to start with a big picture approach when partnering with his clients. That perspective allows him to understand his clients’ overall interests and goals, examining investments and portfolios through a lens of long-term success, contemplating investments months or even years out. And while Jim is looking out for his clients interests years in the future, he brings focused attention to individual engagements. He believes that good communication with his clients and his team is key to the success of any project on the table.

Patrick Johnson’s experience in commercial real estate began in multi-use development roles in North Carolina’s Research Triangle with Access Medical Development and Oaks Commercial Realty. Patrick provided both tenant and landlord representation and business development for projects throughout the rapidly-growing area of the state while earning project experience from initial project planning through completion.
Patrick brings meaningful experience with office, retail, medical and industrial investments to Broad River Capital’s client engagements. In addition to Patrick’s longstanding interest in commercial real estate investments, he also applies his extensive training in technology to effectively and expeditiously analyze the markets that each client is interested in and the potential ventures that match their objectives.

Karl Nelson’s interest in real estate grew organically through a series of residential investments in the early 2000s. Karl’s personal involvement in a variety real estate ventures led him to pursue a full-time career in commercial real estate investments with an investor’s mindset. That perspective aids him in guiding Broad River Capital’s clients’ engagements from beginning to end with a “win-win” result as a persistent goal.
Karl’s proclivity for cash flow analysis and complex deal negotiations was bolstered when he earned the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation through the CCIM Institute. Karl’s passion for commercial real estate investments is only matched by his desire to assist his clients in meeting and exceeding their real estate investment goals. He has worked as a commercial broker associate with NAI-Beverly Hanks since 2016, serving clients throughout the Asheville area and beyond. While he specializes in retail and Hospitality investments for Broad River Capital, Karl is well-versed in every type of income-producing real estate.
Karl is from the coast of South Carolina and has worked in New York, Montana, Colorado and Germany. He’s called Asheville, North Carolina his home since 2000 and resides in the area with his two children.
